Tata Manza Car Insurance

Tata Manza is a decent entry-level sedan that was discontinued in 2015. But many sedan lovers who bought it new or second-hand still use it. People typically use it for intercity travel, daily commuting or family trips because of its comfortable cabin.

However, as an older sedan, it remains exposed to minor accidents and collisions while driving in city traffic, which can damage the car body and panels. In such cases, repairs can be expensive because original parts for a discontinued model are not readily available. With the right insurance for a car in place, you can handle these financial risks.

TATA AIG offers a car insurance plan with benefits such as access to authorised Tata Motors service centres, no IDV negotiations during claims, and affordable premiums, helping Manza owners get practical protection suited to their car.

How to Buy & Renew Tata Manza Car Insurance Online

Whether you own a second-hand or used Tata Manza, buying and renewing car insurance online is important to avoid any unexpected repair expenses. Furthermore, you may also need to undergo an inspection before buying a plan.

Why Insure Your Tata Manza?

Third-Party Coverage is a Legal Requirement

Having an older car like the Tata Manza does not mean your insurance liability is lower in the event of an accident. For instance, while driving, if your Manza causes damage to roadside property, then in that case you may have to bear the compensation costs yourself..

Furthermore, having a third-party insurance coverage is mandatory on Indian roads. Driving without valid coverage can lead to fines ranging between ₹2000 and ₹4000 or up to 3 months' imprisonment.

Cashless Repairs Without Paying Upfront

While navigating busy roads or congested streets, even a minor collision can damage your Tata Manza. Cashless garage support can make repairs easier, as you may not have to pay the full repair bill upfront.

TATA AIG has a network of 6,300+ cashless garages across India, giving Manza owners access to repair facilities in different cities and towns. With our insurance, you will also get benefits like a dedicated claim handler, roadside assistance in remote areas and pick-up and drop-off for doorstep cashless repairs.

Covers Fire, and Natural & Man-Made Disasters

Even when your Tata Manza is parked safely, natural events like heavy downpours, severe storms, or fire can still cause unexpected damage. For example, a falling tree branch can crack the windshield, or rising floodwaters can submerge the vehicle

Repairing this kind of damage out of pocket can be expensive. A standard comprehensive car insurance policy keeps you protected by covering damage from natural disasters—including floods, earthquakes, storms, and fire—so you don't have to bear hefty repair costs alone.

Covers Theft & Total Loss

Whether it is a new car or an older model like the Tata Manza, you cannot overlook the risk of theft. Your Manza could be stolen while parked outside your home, at the office, in a shopping area or during a trip.

With the TATA AIG car insurance plan, you receive the full agreed IDV payout1 if your car suffers a total loss or is stolen, subject to the policy terms. This can be especially useful for discontinued models as replacing the car or sourcing specific parts after a major loss can be difficult.

Tata Manza Insurance - Which Policy Do I Get?

Car Insurance Policies We Offer

Comprehensive Car Insurance

Comprehensive car insurance can be a suitable option for Tata Manza owners who use their car regularly and want protection beyond third-party liabilities. It covers third-party liabilities and damage to your own car from covered events such as accidents, theft, fire and natural disasters, subject to the policy terms. You can also choose eligible add-ons2 to enhance your coverage based on your needs and vehicle eligibility.

Buy Comprehensive Car Insurance

Third Party Car Insurance

Third-party car insurance is mandatory for driving your Tata Manza on Indian roads. It covers your legal liability towards third parties for injury, death or property damage caused by your car, subject to the applicable terms and limits. It can be a practical choice if you mainly need the legally required coverage for an older Manza.

Buy Third-party Car Insurance

Own Damage Car Insurance

For Tata Manza owners who already have a third-party policy but want protection for their own vehicle, standalone own-damage insurance can be an option, subject to eligibility. It covers the Manza against risks such as accidents, theft and fire and covers natural or man-made disasters.

Buy Own-Damage Car Insurance

What Policy Do I Buy?

Parameters  Recommended Cover  Why
Car bought second-hand this year  Comprehensive  A used Manza can still face theft, accident and other own-damage risks, making broader protection useful.
Older car you still depend on daily  Comprehensive  Provides protection against accidents, theft, fire and covered natural disasters while you continue using the Manza regularly.
10+ year-old car with low IDV   Third-party  It keeps you protected against third-party liabilities and fines.
Flood-prone location  Comprehensive  Covers damage to the car caused by covered natural disasters such as floods, storms and cyclones.
Highway/long-distance driver  Comprehensive  Regular intercity travel increases exposure to accidents and unexpected road incidents.

Note: Third-party cover is legally mandatory, so the real decision is whether to stick with basic coverage or upgrade to a comprehensive plan. Ask yourself: If your Tata Manza were stolen or totaled tomorrow, could you easily replace it out of pocket? If yes, third-party is enough. If not, choose comprehensive coverage with an honest IDV that will actually fund your replacement.

Tata Manza Car Insurance Add-On Covers Worth Buying

Choosing the right add-ons with a Tata Manza car insurance online plan is crucial, as their availability depends on the car's age and policy type. For older vehicles like the Tata Manza, focus on add-ons that offer practical protection for your usage, and avoid paying for covers that may not be relevant.

Roadside Assistance (RSA)

It can be useful for Tata Manza owners who regularly commute or take long drives. If the car breaks down, the RSA cover can provide services such as tire change, battery jump-start, minor repairs, fuel delivery and towing, subject to policy terms and eligibility.

Loss of Personal Belongings

If you often use your Tata Manza for family outings or daily travel, you may carry bags and other personal items in the car. With this add-on, you can cover eligible loss or damage to these items after an insured event.

Repair of Glass, Fibre, Plastic and Rubber Parts

Minor accidents while driving or parking your Tata Manza can damage its glass, plastic, fibre or rubber components. This add-on can help you get eligible repairs covered without losing your No Claim Bonus, provided you repair the parts at an authorised garage and meet other policy conditions.

Emergency Medical Expenses

If your Tata Manza is involved in an accident, the driver or passengers may need immediate medical care. With this add-on in place, you can cover eligible medical and ambulance expenses arising from the accident. It also supports aids such as wheelchairs, crutches, etc., up to ₹5000 or 5% of the sum insured (whichever is lower).

Disclaimer: Add-ons are subject to specific eligibility criteria and terms and conditions. Please check whether the add-on is applicable to your car before purchasing car insurance.

What IDV Should You Set for Your Tata Manza?

The Insured Declared Value, or IDV, represents the vehicle's current market value and is the maximum amount payable for a total loss or theft, subject to the policy terms.

Since the Tata Manza is a discontinued model and well over five years old, its IDV isn't calculated using the standard age-based depreciation table. It is determined through an understanding between the TATA AIG and the vehicle owner.

The Trade Off

If your IDV is set…  Your Premium  If the car is stolen or written off
Low  Lower  You receive less compensation, leaving you to cover the shortfall
Right  Based on the selected IDV  You will receive a payout aligned with the insured value
High  Higher  TATA AIG may cap the value at the MAnza current market price.

The Part Owners of Older Cars Miss

For an older, discontinued car like the Tata Manza, IDV becomes an important decision when renewing car insurance. Many owners choose a lower IDV to save on premium, but this can reduce the amount they receive if the car is stolen or written off.

The IDV also affects when the car may be treated as a constructive total loss. If repair costs reach 75% of the IDV, the insurer can declare the car a total loss.

For example, if your Manza has an IDV of ₹50,000, repairs costing ₹37,500 reach the 75% mark. So, choosing a very low IDV can work against you in two ways: you may receive a lower payout, and the car could be written off instead of repaired after a major accident.

What IDV to set on a Tata Manza

To choose the right IDV for Tata Manza, start by checking what similar models are selling for today. Look at cars with a similar year, fuel type, variant, mileage and condition. Use this as a guide to set your IDV, rather than choosing the lowest amount just to save on premium.

However, you cannot simply set a very high IDV to get a bigger payout. The IDV should be close to the car’s actual market value, and the insurer may not accept an inflated amount. If your Manza is financed, also check your IDV against the remaining loan amount.

The Mistake to Avoid

For an older Tata Manza, choosing the lowest possible IDV just to reduce the premium can be a costly mistake. If you keep comprehensive insurance, set the IDV close to the car’s current value so the cover remains useful when you need it.

Return to Invoice isn't an option for an older Manza, as it is meant for eligible newer cars. This means the IDV becomes especially important, as it determines the maximum amount payable in case of theft or total loss, subject to the policy terms. At TATA AIG, we avoid IDV negotiation at claim time to ensure you receive fair compensation.

What Affects Your Tata Manza's Insurance Premium

Tata Manza insurance price depends on two main parts. The third-party premium is fixed based on the car's engine capacity, while the own-damage premium can vary based on factors such as the car's IDV, age, location and claim history.

**The Fixed Part: Third-party Premium **

The Tata Manza was offered with petrol and diesel engines within the 1,000–1,500 cc range. This means its third-party premium falls under the same engine-capacity band, regardless of the car's current market value. IRDAI fixes the third-party rate, and it does not vary between insurers.

Engine CC  1-year third-party premium
1,000 cc to 1,500 cc  ₹3,416

The Variable Part: Own-damage Premium

The own-damage portion of your Tata Manza insurance premium depends on various factors such as:

What Affects it  Why it Matters for your Tata Manza
IDV  A higher IDV can increase the premium, while a very low IDV can reduce the potential payout for theft or total loss.
Car's age  As a discontinued model, the Manza's age affects its current IDV and the cost of own-damage cover.
City of registration  The Manza's registration location can affect the premium based on the area's risk profile.
Add-ons  Eligible add-ons increase the premium and offer enhanced vehicle protection.
Claim history  Previous claims can affect the premium and available discounts at renewal.
No Claim Bonus  An eligible NCB can reduce your own-damage premium when you renew without making a claim.

What You Can Do

  • Choose a realistic IDV: Set the IDV close to your Manza's current market value instead of choosing the lowest figure just to save on premium.

  • Check add-on eligibility: Since the Manza is discontinued, check whether an add-on is actually available for your car before including it.

  • Keep vehicle details correct: Make sure the variant, fuel type and other details match your RC and policy.

  • Compare the full policy: Look beyond the premium while checking Tata Manza insurance quote and compare the IDV, deductibles, coverage and eligible add-ons.
